We’re proud to share that Brook Street has won Best Small New Home Development at the YM Liverpool Awards, a moment of real pride for everyone involved in the project.

The award recognises more than a finished scheme, it reflects a shared ambition to show what is possible in affordable housing when quality, performance and innovation are treated as the starting point rather than the compromise.

Brook Street delivers EPC A rated homes that are zero carbon and genuinely low energy bill. These are homes where running costs are not just reduced but transformed, challenging the assumption that high performance living is out of reach for affordable housing.

The energy outcomes achieved on this scheme are, for many people who see them for the first time, genuinely hard to believe.

The development was completed in partnership with Magenta Living, whose commitment to doing things differently and pushing standards higher was fundamental to the success of the project. That collaboration allowed us to focus on long-term outcomes for residents, not just short-term delivery metrics.

A key part of Brook Street’s success is the use of modern methods of construction and off-site manufacturing. By taking an industrialised approach, we were able to drive quality, consistency and performance while reducing waste and improving build efficiency. This is exactly the kind of application of MMC that the sector needs to see more of, particularly in affordable housing where the benefits can be felt most directly by residents.

Winning this award is a testament to the hard work, creativity and dedication of everyone involved, from design through manufacture to delivery on site. More importantly, it reinforces our belief that industrialised construction, when applied properly, can raise standards, cut energy use and deliver homes that genuinely improve people’s lives.

Brook Street shows that better housing is not a future aspiration, it is something that can be delivered now, and this recognition gives us even more momentum to keep pushing forward.
